Finally…
August 6, 2007 by me.
The winner has been decided and posted on the Chicago Film Office’s website! And the winner is…. well, it wasn’t us. Oh well…! We still were one of the twelve — and I was told we were among the runners-up.
Anyway, back in January we’d registered the treatment for “Wingmen” with the Writer’s Guild of America. And since then we’d been advised by our representatives at Lawyers for the Creative Arts to 1) register my original script with the Writer’s Guild of America, 2) file a copyright of that script with the Library of Congress and 3) file the shooting script along with our DVD with the Library of Congress, which we have done. Such a lot of filings! But all for our protection…
So now we are also looking at Film Festivals to which we can submit “Wingmen.” We can submit to as many as we want but owing to current budget considerations, we can submit to four (festival submission fees average $25). Among these, we’ve been advised to try for Sundance (the most they can do is say no, right?), so we’ll see what we can do…
Meanwhile, we’re arranging to finally have personal copies made for our cast and crew.
More later, as we get more info…
