Now that the Writer’s Strike is Over
February 14, 2008 by me.
As much as I’ve been able, I’ve been following the Writer’s Strike on the West Coast (and for a while, the Stagehand’s Strike on the East Coast as well!) and from the sounds of it, everyone is glad to get back to work — to write, to create and to entertain.
Meanwhile here in the Midwest, we’ve been slowly but steadily working toward a remastered version of “Bubble Tea and Sympathy” and links to additional clips from this episode in the near future. And thanks to the settling of the Writer’s Strike, we are moving on with our plans to eventually post the entire episode on the internet (so stay tuned for news about that!).
As for fundraising, we have now raised $1625 of the $2000 (our original fundraising target) and are brainstorming ideas on how to make up the balance. We have also started talking about what we’d like to see in a second Wingmen episode (what, you thought our pilot was it?!?) and the different resources we’d need to pull this off…
Of course, it helps that we’ve been through the process already, so we know now what to expect. And I myself was encouraged last year when, after sitting down to write a list of possible storylines for our Wingmen, that I came up with 57 – almost 3 seasons worth, in fact. So yeah, we have the ideas, we just need the means… because for sure we have our USP (that’s Unique Selling Proposition, in adspeak) down pat!
