Trying to Catch Up
January 30, 2009 by me.
As we await another clip to be posted onto our site (wonder who invented the phrase “hurry up and wait”?), here’s the second half of Act Two, Scene C from our original script:
… ..
Aaron: So what would you do?
Leonard: About Patti?
Aaron: Yeah.
LEONARD STOPS. THINKS IT OVER.
Leonard: Well for one thing, I’d stop meeting her in the elevators.
Aaron: (Dismayed) Stop… meeting?
CUT TO FANTASY SHOT OF AARON AND PATTI IN THE ELEVATOR, KISSING PASSIONATELY.
SFX: TREACLY LOVE SONG (FOR EXAMPLE, “LOVE IS A MANY-SPLENDORED THING”)
Leonard: Because you can’t build a relationship on two minutes of idle chit-chat. Not even if it’s been five months.
Aaron: But –
CUT TO SHOT OF AARON AND PATTI STANDING IN THE ELEVATOR: NOT TALKING AND NOT TOUCHING.
Leonard: I’m not talking forever. Just until you find a place where you can really talk. You know?
Aaron: Like the lobby. Or the laundry room..?
CUT TO FANTASY SHOT OF AARON AND PATTI, KISSING PASSIONATELY BY THE WASHING MACHINES.
SFX: TREACLY LOVE SONG.
Leonard: Yeah. Something like that.
Aaron: (Determined) All right. I’ll do it!!
BUT BEFORE AARON CAN LEAVE, LEONARD STOPS HIM.
Leonard: And while you’re at it, stop talking to her chin.

Day by day…
January 13, 2009 by me.
Talked to a friend who’s willing to help us get our 4th clip downloaded (remember that I’m a writer and not an IT person!), and sent to our webmaster so he can finally get it onto our site. Our apologies for the looooong delay, since November. Seems like Life keeps interfering with the REAL work.
Also been checking out some additional Asian American recording artists, in the hopes of using their songs (with their permission, of course!) for this and other future hoped-for Wingmen episodes…
Meanwhile there may be another podcast in the near future. Sorry to be so vague, we can’t be specific right now but hopefully soon.

Focus Group
January 6, 2009 by me.
Earlier today, I was on the phone with the other half of Rising Productions (my friend and business partner) who has been thinking about having another focus group re: Wingmen. We’d conducted one earlier, while we were in pre-production for our pilot oh so many moons ago, which helped us to shape some of the subjects we’d touched on, in “Bubble Tea and Sympathy.” Not sure when for sure this will be happening, but if you happen to live in the Chicago area and are interested in putting your two cents in, let us know. Shoot me an email, courtesy of this blogsite, and I’ll email you back with more info as I get it.
Or, if you’re not in the Chicago area but you’d like to stand up too and be counted, you can email me (again via this blogsite) your comments and I’ll pass them on to our focus group coordinator.
Later on maybe we can post some of the minutes from the focus group here, too…
Thanks,
Marie
